Truckee River Fishing Report 7/9/11

Looking at the flows, she’s dropping, the Truckee River, and it’s about as clean as whistle from Grays Creek on up. Two weeks is my guess before it comes down to some wadeable flows, but maybe a month for more normal wadeable flows. Feels like the first week of June, not July, everything’s green, the fish are fat and healthy. 1700 cubes here in the Hirsch, and 400 up top. Good bugs are rubberlegged stones, small princes, caddis pupa, pmds and green drakes. Not to many fish on top, but that can be changing here shortly. Larry from Auburn got this nice brown on an articulated zoo cougar about 6 inches long yesterday on the Truckee. Larry’s first fish on a big articulated streamer. The fish are savage this year.
