Truckee River Fishing Report 6-24-14

Good consistent fishing here on the Truckee River in the Lake Tahoe-Reno-Truckee area. Good fishing in the am, slow in the afternoons, and good again in the evening. Pretty typical summer pattern. Caddis, stones, and crays are king. Other bugs of interest are pmds, yellow sallies, and peds in the evenings. Nymphing in fast water will be the key to your success. Also, folks, we have plenty of water in the Truckee River. Take a look at the flows, or come wade around with me for the day and you’ll understand that we have water. Fishing is good on both sides. In Nevada its tubing season, and if you don’t hit it early, its almost not worth it in places. We have rafters on the Cali side too, but its not as bad. Pretty much anywhere you go there’s fish.
