We had a little scare here in Hirschdale, the land of trout and clear blue waters. Thankfully, we came out unscathed. Thanks to the good fire fighter folks that contained the fire promptly. Scary shit though. We’ve been lucky thus far in Lake Tahoe-Truckee-Reno, but it’s a tinderbox out there and a fire can go off anytime. We all remember the Martis Fire of 2001. Hirschdale almost burned and the river took a while to recover post burn. Let’s keep the fingers crossed we’ll make it though this epic dry year without burning up and that everyones homes and families stay safe until we get some snow and rain.
