Well, it’s officially June, and the start of Summer fishing on the Truckee River.

Didn’t feel so summer this last weekend, but warm today, and warm until the weekend when will be back again in the 50’s. Mainly, it’s been a cool Spring for us.

For the Truckee River Fly Fishing Report, this is it. This is that magical 3 week time frame. Things are firing off real good. Bugs and trouts are out and happy. Not too hot, not too cold. You get this special time right now, and again in the Fall for a bit. Seize it while we got it. Soon it will be ruthlessly hot, then we’ll have smoke, and you’ll have to get out at the buttcrack of dawn before water temps get hot. Everything is green and it’s just amazing out right now. Wait until the caddis pop out and she’ll really get going. Life and fishing, pretty easy right now.
