High pressure the last couple days has put a clamp on the bite out at Pyramid Lake. That should change this coming weekend in what most are saying will be our first real storm since 2012. High pressure ridges and stagnant sunny weather are not good for the bite out at the lake, it’s like it creates a pressure gradient on the water and fish stay out deeper and just don’t feel comfy coming in and eating popcorn beetles and things. That being said we still have caught a few 10 pounders, and some nice fish in the 5-10 pound class as well. You’ll get a bit of bite it seems, right late afternoon, but the all day bite just ain’t there. Like I said, this will all change shortly.
