Truckee River Fishing Report 9/9/13

We are starting to get into some fall fishing, or I should say Indian Summer fishing on the Truckee River. Both states have been fishing very well. Days are still warm, but nights have cooled and days are shorter than a few months ago. Crayfish and big goldens are still on top of the menu. October caddis are also active. I looked through a run down from my house and every other rock had a big larvae on it. Baeits, small caddis, and some pmds should be in the box. Streamer fishing can start producing any day, every day this time of year. The hopper fishing ain’t that shotty either. We have about two and a half solid months left of good fishing here on the Cali side before winter sets in and cold water temps, more on the Nevada side depending on the weather. Actually, in Nevada the winter fishing is pretty damn good. Take advantage of this time and get your fish on.
