Heating Up

Things are heating up, the weather and the fishing. Lot’s of bugs out, a few fish rising, but it’s a nymphing/streamer game still here on the Truckee River. The river is about as clear as it gets, 2000 cubes, but fishy. Grays Creek is still mud’n the place up down below through Nevada. Not to many folks out, but honestly the fishing is pretty good. Nymphing wise, green drakes, golden stones, l’ stones, pmds and caddis pupa are on the menu. Though a guy could get away with just fishing a stone and a prince, you’d be catching fish. Streamers, olive or black, something big and sculpin looking are working. Dry droppers on the inside seams are also a good ticket. Find soft water and you will find fish. I was able to sneak out yesterday for a few and got some big whacks including this nice brown.
