Biggest browns of my life!
Joan ZI have been out Matt 3 times, and have enjoyed myself immensely each time. He is professional, knowledgeable, and has a passion for the sport that is refreshing. I highly recommend him if you are headed to the area. I have included some photos of the caliber of trout that I have landed with his guidance. These are the biggest browns of my life!

My best ever!
Eric AI have been out with Matt three times now: twice on guided trips and one time for his Euro nymphing clinic. The things I have learned from him have opened up whole new possibilities for me in terms of being able to go out and have success on my own. Most recently, he helped me hook and land this amazing brown trout - my best ever.

Great day on the river!
Bob L.We did a Truckee float with Matt. We had a great day on the river. We pitched streamers for most of the morning, and Matt took the time to introduce us to Euro nymphing later in the day. I got into some nice fish, but more than the fishing, Matt is just an enjoyable dude to spend time with on the river. An excellent day on the river!

What's the Cancellation Policy
Payments for canceled clinics will be refunded in full with a 30 day or more notice. Cancellations within 30 days will forfeit all payments. If we have to re-schedule the clinic, we will refund the payments or apply it to a clinic at a later date. Our clinics go out in all safe weather and water conditions, therefore inclement weather, water levels or undesirable fishing conditions are NOT acceptable reasons to cancel or receive a refund. Clinics cancelled by the guide or mutual guide/client decision due to unsafe weather or water conditions, state or federal closures, or other uncontrollable circumstances will have the entire payment refunded.
Where will we fish?
Depending on the weather, river, and bug conditions at the time of the clinic we we will seek out whatever stretch of river that is fishing well.
We are on the river almost daily, so we're intimately attuned to the conditions, flows, and hatches and strive to put you in the best possible position.
We will communicate with guests at least 24 hours before a clinic on where we will meet to maximize our success.
What skill level do I need?
Our Clinics are designed to educate complete novices up to professional anglers on the tactics, techniques, and methodologies behind European Nymphing.
Gill is one of, if not THE authorities on tight line nymphing in the West, and has over three decades of experience guiding clients to trophy fish.
What type of fishing will we do?
These Clinics will focus exclusively on European Tight Line Nymphing; also commonly referred to Czech Nymphing, Euro Nymphing, or High Sticking.
The main differentiator between this nymphing style and more conventional tactics is the use of a fluorocarbon line and "sighter" instead of a traditional fly line and "bobber/indicator".
Instead of being constrained by the speed of a bobber on the surface, tight line rigs dredge nymphs through targeted depths of water columns and travel exactly at the speed of the water at those depths, presenting a much more accurate meal for picky trout.
Anglers have been fly fishing since the 2nd Century AD, The "Treatyse of Fysshiynge with an Angle" came out in 1496, and Walton's "Compleat Angler" was published in 1653. But It wasn't until the World Fly Fishing Championships in 1989 that a Polish National Team angler debuted what has now became known as "European Nymphing", named after it's prevalent use by European national teams. It's only really been adopted here in the US within the last couple of decades, still met with skepticism since the technique does away with traditional casting and flair. But there's a reason it has caught on, and is still the dominant methodology at every Fly Fishing World Championships... It just flat out catches more fish!
