It's Dropping

Flows are dropping slowly, though still high, the Truckee River is looking better every day. 1800 cubes here in the Hirsch, 500 through town. Rig of choice, my Skipper Stone with a prince, green drake, or worm dropper. No need to get to crazy in your fly selection. Most of these fish haven’t been fished to in months. Pmd’s are out as well as little yellow stones, but don’t be thinking you’ll be seeing any heads at these flows. We’ve turned some big fish the last few days on both streamers and nymphs, and it will be getting much better. The bottom photo is of Horner’s Corner just up from Hirschdale, named after Jack Horner, the dude that invented the Humpy.
