Most of the rainbows are colored up, and some are on their beds down on the Nevada side of the Truckee River. Haven’t seen any spawners yet on the Cali side, but with they days getting longer, it shouldn’t be long. If you do see fish spawning, usually in the tail-outs of runs, or shawel gravel bars, leave them alone. If you happen to be crossing the river and see a pair of rainbows on their beds, cross well upstream of them, as their eggs will travel down river quite a ways. With plenty of water and stable flows, it should be a good rainbow spawn this Spring. Daylight Savings Time happens this weekend, which will make the days warmer and longer. With more sunlight it should put the rest of the rainbows in full spawning mode. This was a nice cuttbow from yesterday.
