Fishing has been about the same it has last week on the Truckee River in the greater Truckee-Tahoe-Reno area. Except for today, mild weather has been the pattern and of course that makes fishing good for it being January and all. Usually this time of year its a crap shoot, flows could be high from rain, snow, could be windy, cold, whatever, but its been like in the 50′ in Truckee and warmer in Reno. Midges are out, baetis, all the winter timey bugs. Streamer fishings been descent too. Many folks out on the river mainly because there ain’t shit else to do around Tahoe but fish. Flows are still holding steady, but lets hope that the pattern changes over the Pacific like planned for the end of this month.
