Winter fishing continues to be good on the Nevada side of the Truckee River. Warm days, stable flows, equals solid winter fishing. We are in the process of the third driest December on record in the Truckee-Tahoe area. Despite the lack of precip, the river is still almost twice as high as average for this time of year, but we need snow to put in the bank for next year. You should still be fishing the froggy water, with worms, stones, midges, and baetis. If you find one fish in a run, you will find more. Post up and hit it for awhile. No need to cover tons a water this time of year. Switch flies till you hook up. One of the bigger rainbow’s from today.
