The June like weather we’ve had all month will end this week in the greater Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Reno area. Yes, this April has felt more like a typical June. It’s been blue bird out all week, no wind, temps in the 70’s, but this week we’ll get back to reality. Spring in the mountains usually means, snow, or wind. This warm weather has waken up the bugs. I saw pmds down in Reno, earliest I’ve ever seen them. March browns are out along the entire length, blue wings, skwalas and some spring caddis. The Truckee Rivers in very good shape flow wise for it being almost May, a bit big, but very fishy. Seems like we get some of our biggest fish in spring, and the rivers prime for that right now. Going to be windy the next two days, I’d think Pyramid, probably go off out there, and get back on the river later this week.
