Things have heated up here on the Truckee River in Reno-Truckee-Tahoe. The fishing has been very good, morning, to mid-mornings. They are munching on everything. It’s a smorgasbord of bug activity. Pmds, green drakes, caddis, golden stones. Everything is out flying around. Evenings, the big caddis hatches are out and if you’re lucky you will run into a nice green drake hatch. Fish the above mentioned nymphs in the fast water. High stick. The weather has been hot, but it looks like it will cool down in the next few days. With the hot weather the fish have stuck themselves into fast oxygenated water. It’ll be like that until the end of September. Get on out there and get your fish on.
