Truckee River Fishing Report 7-11-14

Warm, warm, and very warm here on the Truckee River. Been very hot here this July. Fishing is good in the am, actually great, pretty slow in the afternoons. We’ll have to start talking about water temps soon and how you should fish the river come August. Right now, things are ok, but you should have a thermometer handy and take a water temp. Above 70 is to hot, give the fish a break. If you fish the Nevada side, you should be taking a water temp and protect your trouts if the water is warm. Protect them BY NOT FISHING. That’s right, pull your Buff down and go home. Crays, stones, and caddis still. Haven’t seen the big nocturnal stones yet, but they’ll start pop’n out soon.
