So far March has been about the coldest month of this Winter. Good snows and more on the way. Pretty stoked for the precip.
Not a great Winter, but not bad either. If we can finish with 90% of average ,that'd be great. Winter is not over, we'll see.
Fly fishing on the Truckee River has been pretty good. I really like March. April and early May are probably my favorite times. March you get that taste of Spring, but are strongly reminded that it's still Winter.
Blue wings are out, streamer fishing can be good, and of course you can always nymph them.
Flows are really good right now. Right around the March average. about 500 cubes here in Hirschdale. It's gonna go up eventually when it gets warm again.
