Winter feels over, at least for the time being on the Truckee River. Damn near hit 60 already in Truckee.
Unfortunately all the snow we got last week is gone. The rain took it away. The Truckee River is, "up," as a result. I reckon Winter will return and remind us it's still too early for Spring in the mountains.
March is a great month on the Truckee River. I like all the early Spring months. The rIver is waking up from Winter.
Right now with the higher flows, fish the edges, soft current. Trout will not fight current. Fish bigger flies. Streamers and nymphs. When the water is higher you will always find bigger fish.
Still some spots left for the Lower Truckee River Clinic in Nevada.
