Things are heating up on the Truckee River. Spring is almost over and Summer is almost here. A great time to be on the Truckee River.
Looks like the weather should stay consistent now for the foreseeable future. Hard going from the 70's, back down to the 40's every week. Does not make the fishing consistent. Now, we should be good day to day.
Look for trouts in tight. Not much middle stuff happening right now. Fish are not out in all that current. Trout are lazy, remember that. Easy feeding is what they like. When flows come down, start fishing the middle.
So, just about every bug should pop this week. Pmd, golden stones, etc. You can conceivably nymph with just about anything. Green drakes, march browns, bwo, goldens, crayfish. Fish something generic that mimics everything. If you see a good PMD hatch and nothing on the surface, then maybe switch to something more realistic of a pmd nymph. Likely trout are keying in on the nymphs. Think like that for every hatch. Fish generic everything bugs until then.
Happy hunting.
