Things are actually pretty dry here on the East side, Hirschdale, and down below through Reno. The wind has been a bummer this week though, seems like it always is this time of year. The West side is getting pounded, rain and snow, or, everything West of Donner Summit. The Truckee River is in good shape, I’m surprised, I thought these storms would blow it out for awhile. The storm rolling in on Friday will be much colder and it shouldn’t have to much effect on the river levels, being that it will snow and not rain. After these stroms roll out, it should be business as usual. We’re coming into a good time of the year, Spring, to catch big fish through out the entire Truckee River system, California and Nevada. Skwalas will be in the air, march browns, and blue wings. Water temp is 42 degrees here in the Hirsch, could be warmer, but that is good enough to work with for now. The wind was mild today, and I stuck a few fish below my house. Heavy winds are forecasted through Saturday.
