Truckee River Fishing Report 12/27/13

Mild weather now in the Truckee -Tahoe-Reno area. Like total reverse since the beginning of the month when we had -20 temps here in Truckee. I’m not going to talk about the lack of snow anymore. 2013 is the driest year ever recorded here in Nor Cal. Hopefully, we get some snow, but this is the last time I talk about it because it really bums me out. Mild winter weather means good trout fish’n. The fishing is about as good as it can be for December on the entire Truckee River. The anchor ice that took over the entire upper stretches of river is all melted, and fish are eating their normal winter fair, baetis, midges, you know, anything that floats by with some flash. Lets all pray for some snow.
